The Cairns Holiday Lodge is on the city fringe located
between the Cairns Domestic and International Airports and the City
Centre.
Taxis to the Airport or City cost $10-$15 and is just a six minute
drive. We are positioned on the corner of Sheridan and Thomas Streets.
Buses leave from the front of the lodge every 15mins to the City Centre
or Beaches.
Keen walkers and joggers love to include in there daily routine from
the Lodge a 20min walk to the Botanical Gardens where you cross the
Centennial Lakes Board walk to arrive there, and continue to the Red
Arrow Tropical Rain Forest 1.5km Walk. Why not extend yourself and
tackle the 5km Blue Arrow walk. For the more relaxed walkers the kiosk
there serves great coffee and lunches. The versatile Tanks are another
wonderful feature here, continually used for an Art Gallery, Work
shops, Feature Bands, or just for a Giant sale of goods.
With Cairns being a Port City it has much to offer. Flanked by mountains
containing the wonderful North Queensland Tropical Rain Forests. (which
can be explored in many ways)Cairns Holiday Lodge is well positioned
to view the mountain scenery from Apartments facing the western side
of the complex. |

We are just a 5min walk to the seafront Esplanade with its well lit
board walk that takes you to the city Hub via wonderful play areas
including the popular Muddies Water Play Ground, past a modern skate
board park and sand based Beach Volley Ball courts onto lawns with
BBQ'S and an Entertainment Sound Shell that has family orientated
functions all year round. Next you arrive at the wonderful supervised
Swimming Lagoon that can hold up to one thousand people.
The Cairns Esplanade is a gathering place for all to take in the sun
and the sights of the harbour. Cairns Night Markets, which play host
to a wide variety of locally crafted gifts and souvenir stalls are
open until 11.00pm each night.
The Cairns Pier area has many eateries, restaurants and hotels located
along the way to tempt your taste buds and take in the breathtaking
views as you dine. Watch the many tour vessels embark on their daily
launch to The Islands and the Great Barrier Reef, or just gaze at
the aqua marine waters that lap at her Port.
Perhaps you'll be tempted to stroll a little further to the Sofitel
Reef Casino and take in the opulence and maybe have a flutter on some
of the many gaming machines, or perhaps a visit to the Casino Dome
with its hand reared birds and animals.
Shields Street is very well noted for its huge variety of restaurants
with their fine cuisine, and for the shopaholics Cairns Central Shopping
Centre with its vast array of retail outlets is easily located on
Mc Leod Street.

11pm every night of the week, Bakery & Takeaways. These are within
